SLEDGING IN SAN VIGILIO
Sledging fun in the middle of the Dolomites
After a beautiful winter hike through a snowy landscape or after an ascent with the cable car, you can sit on your sledge and enjoy the fast descent with a promising view.
As such a hike through the snow is exhausting, there are many huts which are pleased to pamper you with delicious traditional dishes.
If you prefer to go skiing during daytime then you can sledge also at night in San Vigilio thanks to floodlight.
San Vigilio Centre – Cianross
The Cianross is easy to reach as it lies directly in San Vigilio and is a part of the ski resort Plan de Corones. Consequently, you do not need to make an exhausting ascent hike as you can take the cable railway up to the top.
Another highlight of the Cianross track is the floodlight, which guarantees you sledging fun from 8 pm to 10 pm at night.
The forest roads which take you up to the huts are also ideal for sledging and therefore it is worth to take your sledge with you.
The destination of the ascent is the Brunst hut, but the hut is not open during winter. Consequently, it is recommendable to take some provision with you.
A highlight of the Fornela sledging track is the sledge rent at the mountain restaurant Ütia de Börz. Thus, you do not have to carry a sledge up to the top and can simply enjoy your winter hike.
