MESSNER MOUNTAIN MUSEUM – CORONES

Architecture x Museum x Landscape

The newest museum of the six Messner Mountain Museums is located on the peak of the 2275 m high Plan de Corones. This museum distinguishes itself from the others by its unique construction which was designed by the well-known British architect Zaha Hadid.

The interior is dedicated to the traditional alpinism and was composed by Reinhold Messner himself. The highlight of the museum is for sure the impressive panoramic view at the surrounding Dolomites, the main alpine ridge and even to the Ortles.

You can reach the museum via cableway from Riscone, Valdaora and the Furcia Pass. Alternatively, you can make a walk up to the Plan de Corones. Or, you use your car or the public transport.

MESSNER MOUNTAIN MUSEUM – RIPA

Learn more about the different mountain tribes around the world!

You can combine the museum visit with taking a stroll through the lovely medieval city Brunico. From the city up to the castle hill goes a promenade and hence you can start with the town visit and then continue with the walk through the exhibition or vice versa.
